Emily Ayers, Attorney
Originally from Spartanburg, SC, Emily came to Charleston in 2004 to join the inaugural class of the Charleston School of Law. Since graduating, Emily has pursued her passion to represent individuals in the Family Court throughout the lowcountry. Her law firm is focused 100% in the Family Court and she represents clients in Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties. Emily serves as a Guardian ad Litem, representing children whose families are involved in custody/visitation disputes. In 2013, Emily became certified as a Family Court mediator in South Carolina.
Melissa C. Syracuse, Attorney
Melissa C. Syracuse focuses on family court matters including divorce and child custody, personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. She graduated cum laude from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in financial management before receiving her law degree from the Charleston School of Law. After graduating from law school, Melissa gained extensive experience as an insurance company and employer defense attorney in the area of workers’ compensation law. Melissa has represented multiple permanently and totally disabled clients before the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission. Over the last several years, she has expanded her practice to include the representation of individuals in the Family Court when they are faced with divorce and custody issues.
Tameika Seward, Paralegal
Tameika Seward grew up in Hollywood, South Carolina. She attended the University of South Carolina and the College of Charleston. She received her Associates in Applied Science, Paralegal Studies from Trident Technical College in 2012. While in school, Tameika was a member of Lex Artis Paralegal Society and is a current member of the Charleston Association of Legal Assistants. Tameika spent 10 years in the United States Army and Army Reserves. She married her high school sweetheart and they are the proud parents of 3 children. Tameika attends church at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church where she is involved with the Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina. Tameika joined Ayers Family Law in February 2015 and loves working with families.
